Comments on demolition of the bas-relief of Alisher Navoi in Mazar-i-Sharif

Due to the reconstruction carried out by local authorities in Mazar-i-Sharif, the bas-relief of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi was demolished.

The Consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan in
Mazar-i-Sharif has contacted with representatives of local authorities for this issue.

According to the information received, the monument was demolished due to the inconsistency of this place with the memory of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi, which required the construction of a more magnificent complex for the scientist.

Local authorities announced plans to build a new monument in honor of Alisher Navoi in the near future, as well as naming the area where the memorial will be erected after the great poet.

The Afghanistan Side expressed its strong commitment to preserving the memory of the great thinker Alisher Navoi, who is the common heritage of the entire region.
